Example Business Letters
Business letter writing is quite straightforward and there
is no magic formula.
The key to successful business letter writing is to keep
things simple and logical, concentrating on the result that you
wish your business letter to have.
For example, one of the most popular types of business
letter we are asked to produce is a sales introductory
letter.
A good sales letter should capture the attention of the
recipient and keep his or her attention, getting across
the message about your company. It will ideally
have a "call to action", whick is your overall aim of the
letter - like "Call us for a free quotation" or something
similar.
Another type of business letter might be to recover an
outstanding debt - in this case, you'll want to keep things
very formal and your call to action will no doubt be "Pay the
bill"!
Different business letters need different components,
though most will be structured similarly.
A business letter sent by fax or email will be
structured differently to one sent in the post and of course,
we cover those differences in each of the examples
provided.
